IKIGAI- REVIEW

Ikigai- the Japanese secret to a long and happy life...                                                            Wow someone somewhere has actually cracked the code for a happy life.. this thought led me to my first non fiction purchase...   The simple, soothing beautifully designed cover casts an unexplainable calmness . The mysterious world  one gets to visit by way of this book  teaches us or rather points out at the simple principles which if followed would help us all to attain the much sought after  HAPPINESS.... To realise that there are people out there who are elderly and living on some very strong community happiness principles. Is something  to learn and practice specially in this pandemic driven time of ours. Being content , finding purpose, finding happiness and spreading the cheer within a community couldn't have been more relevant then now. Some simple yet powerful lines that just made me sit back and read them only to do a retrospective of my own attitude makes this little happiness pocket such a page turner.            If one reads lines such as                                             A LITTLE STRESS IS GOOD FOR YOU/   A LOT OF SITTING WILL AGE YOU/      ENJOY MUNDANE TASKS  one wants to find out the context of them being penned. The book simply makes one believe that each one of us has an IKIGAI..          a  reason to be Happy-                      a reason to jump out of bed each morning and feel alive.     Each page when read and re-read gives a new perspective to our thought process . This 194 pages happiness draft surely deserves a prime place on each book shelf.- Anuprita Shinde
